This degree prepares early childhood educators by developing the knowledge, skills and dispositions needed to facilitate the positive growth and development of young children up to the age of 8.

Early Childhood Education Degree Overview

The Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education prepares you to provide high-quality, inclusive care and education to children up to the age of 8. The program includes fieldwork and two practicums that let you demonstrate your teaching competencies under guided supervision.

  • Learn skills to complement your previous early childhood educational training and fieldwork.
  •  Lower division coursework mirrors the Curriculum Alignment Project Eight (CAP 8), which provides a foundation for upper division content and experiences.
  • The capstone course allows you to demonstrate your mastery and reflect on the knowledge, skills and dispositions you have learned.

    Applicants for this program must complete the formal application process with all required documents, which include:

    • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
    • 12 or more transferable baccalaureate level credits or the equivalent
    • Official transcripts from ALL colleges and universities attended
