Ed.D., Organizational Leadership

This doctorate program combines online instruction with face-to-face support and integrates the latest theories from both education and organizational leadership including transformational leadership, collaborative relationships, political intelligence, strategic thinking, diversity, and creativity and sustained innovation.

Ed.D. Degree Overview

The Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership program develops leaders who transform their organizations through collaboration, innovation, positive influence, strategic thinking and a profound commitment to lifelong learning. The Ed.D. program is an interdisciplinary degree leading to many career paths – educators, business executives, organizational development consultants, city and county government, college faculty and staff, and non-profits.

As a student, you will:

  • Learn within local cohorts offering opportunities to work with distinguished leaders as mentors and bond with peers.
  • Complete coursework in two years, dissertation in third.
  • Learn to lead transformational change through innovation and collaboration.
  • Begin preparing for dissertation right from the start.

    Admissions Requirements

    Applicants for this program must complete an intake interview with a doctoral faculty member and the formal application process with all required documents, which include:

    • Completed application
    • A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
    • Two letters of reference
    • Letter of intent
    • Transcripts documenting successful attainment of a Masters Degree
    • Portfolio: Includes two essays, a resume showing leadership experience, and letter of intent
    • If the applicant is not in a leadership position, a letter submitted explaining assignments involving working with individuals/groups in an organizations to bring important change

    Only credits from regionally accredited institutions may be accepted in transfer. Failure to report any previous academic work at another college or university may be considered a violation of academic integrity.
