Test for Credit
Everything we do is designed to serve the adult learner, and we know you don’t want to waste time in a class studying things you already know. At Brandman, you can earn alternative credits by testing out of classes. If you can pass specific exams, such as AP, CLEP and DANTES General and Subject exams, we will grant you the credits.
Ways to Earn Undergraduate Credits Prior to Admission
At Brandman, we understand that pursuing a higher education is an investment of both time and resources, which is why we have partnered with other educational organizations so you can earn transferrable credits while fulfilling your full-time commitments. All of our partners offer online courses that will count toward your undergraduate degree at Brandman. Explore all of our partners’ courses to see if this option will work for you.
Alternative Credit Project
The Alternative Credit Project (ACP) provides a pool of online courses that Brandman University will accept towards your degree. A national program of the American Council on Education, supported by a generous grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the ACP is designed to help adults finish what they started - a two- or four-year degree, or a post-secondary certificate.

StraighterLine provides 1st and 2nd year general education courses equal in quality to those at the top universities for career-focused adults. Delivered 100% online, StraighterLine specializes in these courses to ensure a high-quality education at a mere fraction of the cost from a traditional university.
StraighterLine was founded in 2009 by Burck Smith as a solution to the rising costs of college education. Burck set out to discover why prices for online courses were the same or higher than those delivered face-to-face. Using relationships with colleges, publishers, and policymakers that were forged in his 15 years of online higher education experience, Burck created StraighterLine as a way for students to get low-priced, high quality college credit.
This year, 15,000 students just like you will take StraighterLine courses before getting their degree and advancing their careers. Students have transferred over 26,000 StraighterLine credits to America's colleges. In addition to our partners, over 400 colleges have accepted credit for StraighterLine courses. In addition, ACE Credit has evaluated and recommended our courses for credit.

The fact that Brandman University was a not-for-profit school, really sealed the deal for me. I wanted to be able to attend a college, where I knew that my money, my tuition, was being used for the school and not being paid to the shareholders.
The distinguished faculty at Brandman and their dedication to their students as well as the administration have made it possible for us students to overcome the challenges we faced and helped us bring our educational goals to fruition.
Obtaining an MBA always was on my bucket list, however, until I found Brandman I was facing large loans and a strict school regiment. The flexibility of Brandman’s program along with Kia’s tuition assistance made the perfect combination. An MBA gave me the self-confidence to trust my ideas and question conventional thinking.
I would recommend Brandman for a quality education to anyone. I know the faculty is absolutely committed to a quality education. They’ll make sure that you’ll get what you’re coming there for, the knowledge you need.
Going back to school helped me get out of my comfort zone. It helped me get past the ‘we’ve always done it that way’ mentality. I learned that I needed to innovate personally, professionally and to help other become more innovative.
