We have designed specific academic pathways that allow some students to accelerate to graduation based on their knowledge and previous learning. Review the opportunities below.

Earn Credit for Your Experience

Prior Learning Assessment

Brandman allows you to prove the knowledge you’ve gained through life and/or work experience through a prior learning assessment. You submit a portfolio and the content must match an appropriate Brandman course. It requires a demonstration of strong narrative and expository writing skills. A separate portfolio must be submitted for each three-credit course - separate fees apply for each submission. Prerequisites include successful completion of ENGU 103, or its equivalent, and LBSU 305. If you are interested in pursuing this option, speak with your enrollment specialist.

Induction Programs for Education Professionals

BTSA or General Education Induction Programs

Up to 12 credits from a CTC-approved BTSA or General Education Induction may be applied to the Master of Arts in Education, Teaching and Learning. This program is for educational professionals seeking to become innovative leaders and teachers. Students will learn groundbreaking ideas and put them into practice immediately to transform their classrooms and the educational landscape in California.

Education Specialist Clear Induction Program

Brandman awards 6 semester credits towards the Master of Arts in Special Education, Advanced Methodology emphasis area for successful completion of an Education Specialist Clear Induction Program. The Education Specialist Clear Induction program must be completed prior to the student being awarded these 6 units, and will be evaluated for credit hour compliance.
