What Jobs Can I Get with my Degree?

Communications and media professionals have a wide range of opportunities in a variety of industries. The Bureau of Labor Statistics identifies positions as announcers, broadcast engineering technicians, public relations specialists, news correspondents, authors, and editors among the top choices [1].

Specialists in the public relations industry often design media releases to shape public perceptions of their organizations and increase overall brand awareness. They often work closely with or within the marketing department at their companies where they can leverage their skills in constructing social media strategies. With the latest generation of millennials dominating online communities, there is a tremendous amount of opportunities to help brands gain competitive advantages in digital arenas. Some professionals who have a passion for writing may also be interested in helping to build out content marketing campaigns to expand their organizations’ online presence. Most positions within the media communications industries, including advertising, promotions, and marketing manager jobs are reliable and expected to grow 12% between 2012 and 2022 [2]. No matter what pathways graduates decide to take, Brandman University’s bachelor’s degree in applied communications can help them achieve their goals.
