What Jobs Can I Get with my Degree?

Organizational communication professionals are needed to manage internal affairs and to portray information through public affairs. Graduates may be responsible for activities such as leading training and development, creating and implementing formal policies, or planning events such as conferences that promote team building within their systems. Potential career paths include becoming human resources managers, conflict resolution mediators, corporate recruiters, sales representatives, corporate communication specialists, and labor relations delegates.

Organizational communication professionals may want to consider becoming meeting, convention, and event planners. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, jobs specializing in these functions are expected to grow at a rate of 33% through the year 2022 [1], significantly higher than the national average for other positions.  These motivated individuals manage and coordinate all of the details that go into planning and executing small-to-large scale events.  The high demand is partially due to increasing globalization and businesses recognizing the value of professionally planned meetings and workforce training opportunities.  Other career segments that are quickly gaining speed include human resource positions at 13% [2], and public relations jobs at 12% [3]. These are just a few of many pathways organizational communication majors may pursue while receiving a competitive salary. No matter what careers Brandman University graduates select, they will have the education and skills needed to thrive in today’s competitive work environments.
