What Jobs Can I Get with My Degree?

An MBA in Finance offers benefits to working professionals in a variety of industries, including commercial and corporate banking, investment services and real estate. Successful finance professionals are often outgoing, inquisitive, organized and highly analytical. Many graduates go on to become financial controllers or directors, chief financial officers, insurance finance managers, and investment bankers (although there are many MBA finance jobs to consider). Personal financial advisors are in particularly high demand due to the large number of baby boomers approach retirement, longer life spans, and decreased funds for corporate and state pensions. They typically help with investment and retirement strategies, filing taxes, and determining ideal insurance options. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the job outlook for individuals in this field is expected to be extremely positive with a projected growth rate of 27% through 2022 [1].

Another stable career choice for many graduates may be to become financial analysts. These individuals help businesses and organizations make important investment decisions by leveraging the performance of stocks, bonds, and other types of funding source. The Bureau projects that the opportunities for such positions will increase faster than average with an estimated 16% growth rate through the year 2022 [2]. It is quite common for financial analysts to pursue licensure or certification, with some programs requiring company sponsorship while on the job to apply. With so many career choices available, it’s no wonder that Forbes rated finance as one of the best master’s degrees for career success.
