Important Deadlines for Graduates
- Early February - Eligible students will receive an invitation to RSVP in their Brandman email account
- March 17 - Deadline to make any changes to your printed name for the program, via the RSVP form*
- March 17 - Deadline for Academic Advisors to include students in the Commencement Eligibility List to guarantee students' names in the program*
- *Students not added to the Commencement Eligibility List by their Academic Advisor before March 17, will not be guaranteed to have their name printed in the program. However, they will still be able to submit their RSVP after this deadline to participate in the commencement ceremony. Please contact your Academic Advisor for any questions.
- April 7 - Deadline to purchase Doctoral regalia
- May 2 - Deadline to rent Doctoral regalia
- May 6 - Deadline to order your cap and gown for Associates, Bachelors and Masters Degrees
- May 8 - Final deadline to submit an RSVP to participate in the Southern Commencement

Day of Information for Graduates
Boarding Passes for Graduates
Boarding passes will be emailed the Tuesday prior to the ceremony to your Brandman email account. Information will include the time and location of your ceremony, along with line-up instructions. This paper will serve as your ticket to enter the line-up area and your reader card on-stage during the ceremony. There is no rehearsal for Commencement.
Personal Belongings of Graduates
Please be sure to leave valuables, such as purses, cameras, and other items with your family or guests and silence all electronic devices. Brandman will not be responsible for valuables lost. Students will not be returning to the student line-up area following the ceremony.
The Southern ceremonies will be held outdoors. There is no rain plan for our Southern ceremonies and they will take place as scheduled unless a downpour or electrical storm create a safety hazard.
Please wear appropriate clothing to protect yourself from the sun, apply sunscreen, wear sensible shoes, and drink plenty of water to remain hydrated. Water stations will be provided in the student line-up and ceremony areas. If at any time you do not feel well, please notify a commencement team member in a maroon polo.
Special Accommodations for Graduates
Graduates with special accommodation needs are invited to email firstname.lastname@example.org with your request. Please note, at the Southern ceremony captioning will be available on the large screens near the stage, for those with hearing impairment. A commencement team member will respond to your request and work with you to create a plan that suits your needs.

Information for Guests
Tickets are not required for admission. We encourage our graduates to invite as many guests as they would like to celebrate this achievement. Seating is on a first come, first served basis.
The Southern ceremonies will be held outdoors (most seating without shade). There is no rain plan for our Southern ceremonies and they will take place as scheduled unless a downpour or electrical storm creates a safety hazard. Please wear appropriate clothing to protect yourself from the sun, apply sunscreen, and drink plenty of water to remain hydrated. Water stations will be provided in the guest seating area.If at any time you do not feel well during the ceremony, please notify a commencement team member in a maroon polo or a security guard.
Special Accommodations for Guests
Guest seating for the commencement ceremony is at field level and there is no designated seating for guests in wheelchairs. Wheelchairs may be placed on the outside edge of a row next to the rest of the family. Specific field entrances/exits will be ADA. For guests with hearing impairment, captioning will be available on the large screens near the stage.
Please view the Parking Map to located the curbside drop off location for those with physical challenges that cannot walk long distances. This is located on Walnut Avenue, between Glassell Street and Center Street. For any other inquiries regarding accommodations for guests, please email email@example.com.
Indoor Viewing Locations
The Southern ceremony will be simulcast in the first floor student lounge of the Argyros Forum Student Union. Seating is first come, first served, and capacity is limited. Guests are invited to drop in and leave as needed. Argyros Forum is air-conditioned and accessible for guests in wheelchairs.
Family and friends from around the globe can view the ceremony via livestream on the Brandman Facebook page.
Parking will be free in all designated parking structures and lots at Chapman, and curbside permits are not required on local streets during commencement weekend. Please allow yourself ample time to park your car and walk to the ceremony site. Additionally, allow yourself plenty of time to navigate out of the parking areas following the ceremony when you are considering making dining reservations. The university requests the cooperation of all grads and guests in observing strict regulations required for the protection of Wilson Field. No food, beverages, chewing gum, cigarettes, party novelties, confetti, balloons or non-service pets are permitted on the field. Possession of weapons on the Chapman University Campus or at Brandman-sponsored events is prohibited, including but not limited to all types of knives, firearms and fireworks.
Brandman University Commencement ceremony is a public event that is videotaped, photographed and recorded for personal and commercial use. By participating in and/or attending these events, you give Chapman and Brandman University permission to use visual images (photo, video, digital in any form) of you for any lawful purpose related to the university’s business activities, including marketing, advertising, and promotion. By participating and/or attending these events you understand that you have waived any rights that you may have to inspect or approve of the images or wording in the final product that may be used in connection with the university’s business activities.
