How do I create or reset my MyBrandman password?
Once your account is active, you may set up security questions for identification purposes in case you forget your changed password. To maintain the security and privacy of your records, keep your password confidential.
How do I access MyBrandman?
Depending on your web browser and computer preferences a variation of an authentication box will appear on your screen. Type in your username (make sure you include @brandman.edu) and password and click submit.
How do I access Blackboard?
Blackboard is a Web-based course management system that supports student and instructor communication by allowing the posting and sharing of documents, links to Web resources, discussion boards and other communication tools.
*Note: Course access is available to students the Friday before class begins.

How do I apply for degree conferral?
Degree conferral is automatic. Upon completion of all degree requirements as indicated on the Degree Works official program evaluation, students will be awarded their degrees. Students will receive an email to their Brandman email account with further information. See the “Graduation/Commencement” tab in MyBrandman for further information.
What Privacy Rights do I have as a Student?
Brandman University adheres to the guidelines established by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) - a federal legislation established to regulate access and maintenance of student records.
FERPA affords students certain rights with respect to their education records, including the right to:
- Inspect their education records
- Request an amendment of the records that the student believes are inaccurate
- Control disclosure of their records except to the extent that FERPA authorizes disclosure with consent
- File a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education concerning alleged failures by Brandman University to comply with FERPA requirements
Parents, spouses and significant others have no inherent right to access student educational records.
How do I access my Brandman student email?
New students who have been assigned a Brandman e-mail, as well as current students who have opted into using the mail.brandman.edu e-mail address, can access their e-mail by logging into Brandman E-mail.
Who do I contact for assistance with Blackboard?
Contact your instructor for help with:
- course content
- assignment submission/re-submission
Contact IT Support for all other technical requests:
Have the following information ready:
- username (the username is before the @ symbol in your email address)
- Course enrolled in
- Immediate access to a properly functioning computer

Who do I contact for general tech support?
If you are experiencing technical issues or need Blackboard Technical Support, contact the Brandman IT Service Desk. Please be prepared to provide your full name, ID number or username if available, last four digits of your Social Security Number, and date of birth.

What are the technical requirements for Blackboard?
To make the most of your online learning experience, there are several technical requirements you will need to fulfill to access Blackboard.Windows Users

Quick Tip: Blackboard requires Java to function properly, please ensure that you have the most up-to-date version. Click here to check your Java version and update if necessary.
Having trouble logging into email?
Please be aware that Google has changed their Gmail site for logging in. Below are the steps to login:
- Enter your full student email address (firstname.lastname@example.org) and select Continue
- Enter your Brandman password
Note: Google will not accept your temporary password to log in. If you are still using your temporary 6-digit password, then please go to change your password so that it meets the minimum requirements. Please note that your password must be alphanumeric to meet the password criteria for Gmail. If you have not updated your password yet, please check out the FAQ on password help.

I recently completed a course, but I do not see my course work and grade on my transcript. What happened?
Chances are you took a course with a curriculum partner through the School of Extended Education and have registered for a professional credit. Please visit the Extended Education Student Resources page for more information.
For Extended Education students with questions regarding the content of your transcript (courses, grades, etc.), please call (800) 632-0094 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
How long does it take to process my transcript?
How can I check the status of my transcript order?
You will need your original order number as well as the Student ID number or Social Security number that you entered on your order.
What if I never send in my authorization form?
If your order requires a signed authorization form and it is not received within 30 days, your order will be automatically canceled.
PLEASE NOTE: We have a small number of schools that charge your credit card at the time your order is placed who will automatically refund the charges if your order is canceled.
What should I do if my transcript has not been received?

Please call our Credentials Solutions Customer Service Department at (847) 716-3005 between the hours of 7:00 am and 8:00 pm Monday through Thursday and between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm CST/CDT on Fridays. A representative will be happy to assist you.
What if I have a hold on my student account?
Transcript requests will not be processed until all holds have been cleared. If your hold is not cleared within 30 days of placing an order, your order will be automatically canceled and you will be notified via email. To view your holds, please go to MyBrandman Self-Service or contact your campus OneStop for assistance.

Federal Express orders that are received before 3:00 PM Central Standard Time will go out the same day. Orders received after 3:00 PM Central Standard Time will go out the following business day, pending any restrictions on your student account.
