Engaging Interactions & Environments: Providing a Solid Foundation for Young Children’s Development

This course is designed to increase participants’ knowledge about the importance of high quality early childhood education and the specific types of environments and interactions that support the development of social-emotional, cognitive, and early academic skills.

Through a practice-based coaching model, participants will learn the following:

Transitional Kindergarten

EARN YOUR CHILD DEVELOPMENT MASTER TEACHER PERMIT AND QUALIFY TO TEACH TK IN AS LITTLE AS 12 MONTHS

Brandman's coursework package was developed to meet the expectations of the newly passed TK Teacher Requirements (SB 876). Our fully online, instructor-led, 8-week courses provide students the know-how to build effective environments, interactions and lessons based on the CA Preschool Learning Foundations and Frameworks.

Health Coach Training and Certification

Brandman University has partnered with the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute to offer Health Coach Training and Certification in a unique online format. The Dr. Sears Wellness Institute’s goal is to set students up for success by providing the best online learning experience. Students will find that the interactive classroom environment is designed to meet their needs in a variety of ways. Students are able to view the coursework 24/7, interact virtually with classmates, and receive feedback and support from a qualified instructor.

Army Foundation Training and Certificate Program Youth

This self-paced training program is designed to help adults who cares for youth in after-school programs learn how to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate program for youth in grades 6 through 12.  The training program is comprehensive, covering the key knowledge and skills needed by staff working in youth programs.  Supervised work experience accompanies the course requirements.

Army Foundation Training and Certificate Program Child Care

This self-paced training and certificate program is designed to help adults who care for children in their home to learn how to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate program for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years old.  The training program is comprehensive, covering the key knowledge and skills needed by Family Child Care Providers working in a home setting.

Applied Behavior Analysis Graduate Certificate

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for Applied Behavior Analysis is expected to increase by 33% between 2010 and 2020.

Behavior analysts strive to help people achieve personal goals, reduce suffering, and improve their quality of life.  They enjoy the flexibility of working for hospitals, schools, health agencies, consulting agencies, and even starting their own private practices.  With California to start Medicaid coverage for ABA for Autism, as many as 75,000 children could be eligible for the care behavior analysts provide.

Spanish for Educators

Did you know that, as of 2009, 26% of all children under 5 years old in the US are Hispanic?

This undergraduate-level course is designed to provide educators with basic knowledge about Latino culture and Spanish language necessary to communicate with parents and students on a basic level. Students will explore the culture of the monolingual population. They will also learn and practice vocabulary and phrases necessary to communicate with Spanish-speaking students and parents.

Teaching the 21st Century Learner Certificate

The Teaching the 21st Century Learner Certificate is designed for current educators who want to gain the knowledge and skill needed to serve as effective instructors for K-20 environments, in both online and blended settings. This four-course, fully online program focuses on students meeting and actively employing the iNACOL National Standards for Quality Online Teaching.
