The Common Core State Standards are a radical shift away from how we have been teaching and learning for the past several years. It is a move towards building skills and abilities, not merely memorizing content knowledge. Within the standards there are built-in technology competencies that are also going to transform the way classrooms look and operate. Used properly, technology gives students the tools to interact with content matter in powerful and meaningful ways. Instead of being merely consumers of content, they can create content as a tool for learning.
