Professional Development Credit for Teachers

Have you ever participated in a conference, workshop, online course, MOOC or other educational activity and wished there were a way to get professional development credit? Well, now there is a way! Brandman University's Digging Deeper meets your needs.

This course will help educators to prioritize the information presented, determine how to apply the most relevant information to their work, and plan or create a project demonstrating their ability to apply the strategies they discovered.

  • Earn 1-3 credits by completing additional readings, reflections, and learning activities that correspond with your participation in conferences, workshops, online courses, MOOCs, and more. 
  • Graduate Level Professional Development Credit awarded based on successful completion of course requirements.

Upon registration, students will receive a confirmation email with instruction on submitting assignments.

Course Requirements:

  • Read 100 pages/unit from professional books or journals
  • Complete an annotated time log to verify you've spent at least 15 hours/unit on the course requirements
  • Complete assignments including a Professional Development Overview and Project Plan
Brandman University awards graduate level professional development credit based upon successful completion of the Digging Deeper course requirements. These credits are not part of a degree program but instead are primarily used for professional advancement such as salary increment steps and recertification. Students should seek approval of appropriate district or college officials before enrolling in these courses to satisfy any degree, state credential, or local school district requirements. State licensing departments vary regarding criteria for credit acceptance, and some states many not accept credit from universities that are located outside the state. 

Cost: $90.00/credit

Term Length: The course is designed so that you can work independently within the given time period. You will have three months from the date you register to complete the coursework.
