Survival Spanish: Culture and Language for Healthcare Professionals

Learn more than just words!

Rather than focus on building complete fluency, our Spanish classes provide a foundation in culture and industry-specific vocabulary for the busy professional. Students explore the demographics, history, gender dynamics, and other important aspects of Latino culture to better understand the unique challenges and experience of the population. Basic phrases and vocabulary are practiced to facilitate conversations between teachers, students, and parents or clinicians and their patients.

The instructor-led, fully online format combines the flexibility of an online course with the support of getting actual practice and feedback on pronunciation from an instructor and classmates. The accelerated pace means that students can more quickly take their new toolbox back to the clinic, build trust with patients, and breaking down barriers of misunderstanding. No previous Spanish language experience is required.
