Julianne Zvalo Martyn
Bio

Julianne has 20 years of progressive experience in the field of early childhood education, school readiness, workforce development and parent education. She was on the Early Childhood Education faculty for Diablo Valley College, where she specialized in mentoring and coaching cohorts of dual language learning immigrant women. She simultaneously served as the School Readiness Specialist for San Lorenzo Unified School District, where she spearheaded the development of the Transitional Kindergarten program, implemented a district-wide PreK-3 transition framework, increased PreK-K teacher collaboration, developed a Kindergarten “passport” system, and improved school readiness outcomes for children and families.

Julianne also works as a trainer, writer, curriculum developer and early education consultant. She creates curriculum and workshops for teachers and families, develops school readiness guidebooks and materials, and consults and coaches on classroom management, positive guidance, and coaching school administrators on developmentally appropriate practice and PreK-3 transition.

Julianne’s background includes leading the Program department of Raising A Reader’s national office, where she revamped training, created new programs and conducted research. She began her career as a parent educator, speaker and preschool teacher for Mt. Diablo Unified School district. Julianne’s specialties include administration of PreK-3 transition programs, early literacy, social/emotional development, positive guidance and classroom management, ECE workforce development, family involvement, and school readiness. She holds an Adult Education Teaching Credential and a Child Development Program Director Permit.
