Faculty notes – February 2017
Pat White, associate dean of the School of Education, is the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) 2017 Professor of Education of the Year. She and other ACSA administrators of the year will receive their awards at a Celebration of Excellence on May 8 at the Irvine Marriott in Irvine, California. ACSA will announce details about registration in April.
David Long, associate professor of criminal justice and legal studies, will be a featured speaker at Banking Summit 2017. The two-day event is sponsored by Compliance Online Banking and brings together banking securing professionals, executives, analysts, risk managers and practitioners to discuss this year’s theme, “Risk Management and Data Security.” Long is leading the rollout of new areas of emphasis for legal studies at Brandman.
Lata Murti, assistant professor of sociology for the Online campus, contributed a case study to SAGE Research Methods Cases, a website featuring specially commissioned case studies of engaging social research projects that highlight project design and methods application. Her contribution is based on her dissertation about Indian immigrant doctors in Southern California. The online collection of researcher’s’ experiences is designed to be student-friendly so that undergraduate and graduate students can learn from the experiences, said Murti.
