Striving to meet wellness goals with information, fun
Brandman’s first onsite biometric screening was a success, reported Wellness Committee member Michael Ngo. About 140 employees from Brandman University’s central administration and Irvine campus participated.
A follow-up event “Know Your Biometric Numbers” open to both those who opted for the biometric screening and those who didn’t will help explain the meaning behind the blood pressure, cholesterol and body mass index numbers provided confidentially during the screening. The Wellness Committee will provide additional information but the March 8 event, which will be streamed to include all campuses but registration is available now at https://buknowyournumbers.eventbrite.com.
Feedback from both participants and vendors was very positive, said Ngo. Other members of the committee are Heather Dilmagani, Lorean Davis-Burns, Kelly Rico, Shannon Feightner, Massiel Perez, Lee Porteneuve, Ron Miranda, Edward De La Torre, Kerri Melnikoff, Meghan Li and Jessica Trader.
“Our employees enjoyed that they had a nurse readily available to them that made simple suggestions on improving their numbers without being invasive,” said Ngo, stressing that information about individuals collected at the event is not being shared with the university. Even more popular than the screen were the free massages provided by Infinite Massage.
