Community members offer input on early childhood education programs in Modesto
The Early Childhood Education (ECE) Advisory Board met in Modesto Wednesday. Faculty member Julianne Svalo-Martyn wanted to gain input from community stakeholders regarding a curriculum for a master’s program in early childhood education. The group offered great ideas, needs and must have’s for the program, according to Corporate and Community Relations Manager Elizabeth Facanah.
Later in the evening, the Modesto campus hosted an ECE workshop, “Mining Family Treasures”. “The outstanding leadership from Campus Director Richard Carnes, Assistant Vice Chancellor Barbara Bartels and Svalo-Martyn make the success we experienced possible,” said Facanah. The workshop, also led by Svalo-Martyn, attracted 20 participants, who were also treated to pizza as well as two hours of useful information.
