Visalia students have new scholarship opportunity thanks to Disciples of Christ Church
Disciples of Christ-Visalia, a denomination with a long history of supporting higher education and the Chapman University System, are offering three new scholarships of $2,000 each to students at the Visalia campus of Brandman University.
They want the scholarship to go to single parents, registered for Fall II at the Visalia campus. The student must be in good academic standing. Students who qualify should submit a 500- to 1,000-word essay on where they see themselves in five years and how their Brandman education will help them achieve their goals. Essays should include name, Brandman ID number, email address and a phone number. Brandman Alumni Manager Shannon Feightner is coordinating the scholarship effort.
Entries are due Friday, Nov. 4, and the award will be made later in November. Essays should be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org.
John Jordan, chairman of the board for the church, said the scholarship is their way of expressing their appreciation for being able to meet at the Brandman University campus and for the support and cordial relationship the church has received from the administrative staff.
