MBA student runs Great Wall of China marathon
Abhishek Kumar, an MBA student at the San Diego campus, successfully completed the Great Wall Marathon in China this summer. Here’s what he had to say:
“This race course is considered as one of the toughest marathons in the world, and it took me 7 hours to get through the 26.2 miles course, which started on the Wall, traversed through four Chinese villages, and ended on the Wall. There were 2,450 runners from around the world. There was no traffic control while running through the villages, which was safe, but yet challenging. The air quality was not the best in Beijing, but it was alright in the countryside (race course venue).
“The whole racing experience was an interesting one. I met and made friends with runners from around the world. There were organized tours of ancient Chinese palaces, tombs, and Beijing City during my five days stay there. The food was served well too. I highly recommend it for anyone trying to travel and race at the same time. www.great-wall-marathon.com.”
