Alumni Association co-sponsoring two events in July
Building on a successful effort to get new students enrolled in the Brandman University Alumni Association, the association is offering two events in July. Although one is already sold out, there’s still time to RSVP for the Summer Social.
Baseball fans who attended the Angels game in April prompted a similar event at Dodger Stadium. Tickets for the July 10 game at 1 p.m. against the San Diego Padres sold out in record time, less than 24 hours, said Shannon Feightner, manager of Alumni Relations.
McCourt Global (owned by former Dodger owner Frank McCourt) donated their suite to the Alumni Association, which wants to build connections with former students in the L.A. area, many of whom may date from the university’s Chapman University College days.
The Dodgers are donating a few items for a raffle that could include bobble head player dolls or autographed baseballs. The Alumni Association will have special alumni baseball caps and license-plate holders available for distribution. Money raised by the raffle goes to the Alumni Association scholarship fund.
A purely social free event takes place on Thursday, July 14, at the Center Club Orange County.
Alumni, students, staff and faculty can attend “Red, White and Brew,” co-sponsored by Brandman University, City Club Los Angeles and The University Club of San Diego. Adam Coughran, a graduate of Brandman’s M.A. in organizational leadership program, extended the invitation.
The summer social, which includes complimentary valet parking and appetizers, begins at 6 p.m. Additional information and reservations, due by July 12, are available through EventBrite.
“We want to give our alumni a chance to network with leaders from the university and the community,” said Feightner.
