Fontana Unified School District formalizes relationship with Brandman
Thanks to the efforts of Felix Kalinski and Patrick Pierson of the Ontario campus, Brandman University has a newly signed memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Fontana Unified School District. More than 5,000 district employees, including both classified staff and teachers, will benefit from scholarships and other learning opportunities.
The memorandum allows the district to work with Brandman to build upon their philosophy of being lifelong learners, said Shanon Miller, director of Special Projects at the district. She earned her Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) from Brandman in 2016. Developing the memorandum took just over a year, said Kalinski. “We have solidified a great relationship. Two principals of the district are currently in our Ed.D. program and there will be more scholars to follow.” Among those who have already benefited from Brandman’s programs is Dr. Leslie Boozer, outgoing superintendent of the Fontana Unified School District, who cleared her administrative credential through Brandman.
