Brandman campuses co-hosting “Raising of America” screenings
Several Brandman campuses will be hosting or co-hosting screenings of the “Are We Crazy About Our Kids?” episode of the PBS series “Raising of America.” The Brandman Early Childhood Education (ECE) Leadership group and Brandman Business Society and staff at various Brandman campuses are organizing the events.
The first screening will be in the Modesto area at the Nick W. Blom Salida Regional Library, 4835 Sisk Road, Salida, California, from 3 to 5 p.m. on May 12. Joining Brandman in organizing the event are the Stanislaus County Office of Education on, Stanislaus Reads!, Stanislaus Community Foundation and the Stanislaus County Library. Scheduled panelists include Tony Jordan, executive director of Child/Family Services (CFS) for the Stanislaus County Office of Education; Dr. Cheryl Williams-Jackson, professor of child development at Modesto Junior College and adjunct professor of human services at Brandman’s Modesto campus; and Eldon Rosenow, director of Great Valley Smart, a neuro educational service provider and current student at Brandman.
The Irvine screening will be held at the Brandman Irvine campus, 16355 Laguna Canyon Road, Irvine, California from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 6. Faculty member Mike Moodian will moderate the panel which includes Dr. Deb Ferber from the School of Business and Professional Studies; Dr. Pat White of the School of Education and Dr. Faith Polk, the early childhood education specialist for the School of Education.
Both events are free and open to the public.
