Autism Awareness event draws a crowd at Fairfield campus

autismAwarenessMore than 40 people joined in the Brandman University’s Fairfield campus event to raise Autism awareness. The event was held in celebration of Autism Awareness Month and to increase understanding about the diagnostic criteria and identifying fundamental deficits associated with autism spectrum disorder. Social and language skills of individuals with autism and the lifespan effects on families was shared by field expert Dr. Danielle Shahan.

Campus Director Linda Montenegro said the workshop earned high evaluation marks from the attendees for everything from the ease of registration to the depth of information and knowledge of the presenters. More than 20 people expressed an interest in learning more about Brandman’s programs in social work, psychology and special education.
