Supply chain is vital to the survival and growth of businesses as many future trends will impact how supply chains are managed, designed and operated. APICS-IE has assembled a panel of experts for a discussion on emerging supply chain trends on Saturday, April 30 at the Eagle Glen Golf Club in Corona, Calif., to help manufacturing, distribution and logistics attendees to anticipate any disruptions and opportunities.

The Inland Empire Chapter of APICS, the leading association for supply chain and operations professionals, is driving the discussion on emerging supply chain trends and how to react to them in the Spring Executive Panel & Networking Symposium: Emerging Supply Chain Trends on Saturday, April 30, 2016. Expert panelists include Dr. Chris Gopal, Senior Fellow at the Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management, Claremont Graduate University, and Executive Director of the Drucker Center for Supply Chain & Logistics, Craig Young, VP of Manufacturing Niagara Bottling,Roy Paulson, President, Paulson Manufacturing, and C.J. Nord, Chairperson of the Institute of Supply Management, Policy & Steering Committee Member of the Center for International Trade and Transportation, and Supply Chain Manager atCalifornia Faucets.

Attendees will also be able to ask questions on supply chain data and trends, and also how companies should be forward thinking and respond to slow moving stock, supplier reliability, lead times and forecasting.  Networking and benchmarking with area companies and partners will not only build contacts within the manufacturing and distribution community but will also help build career success.

“Being forward-thinking and collaborative is cornerstone to supply chain success,” explains Lisa Anderson, President ofAPICS-IE and LMA Consulting Group.  “This is why we are excited to be hosting and facilitating a panel of top supply chain experts to discuss emerging trends. Armed with these supply chain trends and related implications, our attendees will not only walk away with ideas of how to prepare for these supply chain disruptions but they also will gain ideas and contacts for how to thrive in this environment. Our partners also play a critical role in enabling these benefits to occur.”

Sponsor partners this year include Arbela TechnologiesBrandman University, and the Manufacturing Executive Instituteproviding additional value to attendees during the Symposium. Besides their support of the event, they are also resources to help attendees react to emerging supply chain trends.

“Many organizations are faced with the same common problems that include increasingly complex global markets, labor issues and major economic fluctuations,” said Amir Khoshniyati, Marketing and Sales Lead at Arbela Technologies. “As a result, supply chain managers are looking for the proper ERP solutions that can help meet these challenges in addition to having more efficient people and processes, a better handle on costs, happier customers and ultimately greater profits.”

Brandman University is a new sponsor that can help attendees address training needs. “With a mutual passion for continued learning, education, and innovation in supply chain, Brandman University is proud to participate in this year’s annual symposium,” Nick Lacy, Director National Relations.  “We look forward to devoted professionals from across the Inland Empire gathering together with the unique opportunity to be challenged, motivated, and enlightened with emerging supply chain trends.”
