Mother-daughter pairs share presentations at Lilly Conference
Dr. Helen Eckmann and her daughter and fellow School of Business and Professional Studies faculty member Laura Galloway, and Dr. Kathleen Ringenbach and her daughter Beck Wilson were among those leading seminars and presenting posters at the recent Lilly Conference in Newport Beach.
Eckmann and Galloway led a session called “Applying Transformation: From the Classroom to the Workplace, Seven Steps for Students to Apply Transformations.” The pair showed teachers how to encourage their students on ways to make the change from classroom to workplace with seven practical ways for students to apply their new knowledge. They emphasized recognizing opportunities for students, helping them make the transformation and transformational theory.
Ringenbach, a professor in the School of Arts and Sciences, and her daughter, a student at both Chapman and Brandman universities, presented a poster looking at both faculty and student perspectives on best practices for feedback. The poster focused on the connection between quality feedback by the faculty and perceptions of the students who receive it.
