Funding angels and student project

Harvard Angel Mark Rabinowitz; Dr. Deborah Ferber, Brandman University; Gene Alexander, Chapman University; John Harbison, president Tech Coast Angels and Isaac Lien, Chapman student and entrepreneur.

Dr. Deborah Ferber, a Brandman University faculty member in the School of Business and Professional Studies, helped guide fundraising for  a Chapman University student’s start-up project, grandPad.

Ferber represented the Brandman University Community Outreach project for sales mentoring and co-led the raising of Angel funding for the project. Working with Ferber were John Harbison, president of Tech Coast Angels and Shan Steinmark, director of Chapman University’s Ralph W. Leatherby Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Ethics.

Ferber invested in the student project, guiding grandPad co-founder Issac Lien  with networking and sales coaching. She helped to raise funding with UCLA Angels, Pasadena Angela, San Diego Angels, L.A. Angels, Tech Coast Angels and Harvard Angels. The project raised $1 million.

Ferber teaches entrepreneurship and marketing courses at Brandman and can be reached directly at dferber@brandman.edu. Listen to a podcast about Ferber and entrepreneurship here.
