A new publication from the Association of American Colleges and Universities, “Assessment That Works: A National Call, A Twenty-First Century Response” includes a case study of Brandman University’s use of both the Value Assessment of Learning in Undergraduate Education (VALUE) rubrics and the Lumina Foundation’s Degree Qualifications Profile (DQP) to assess student achievement of general education requirements in all programs.  Dr. Jeremy Korr, dean of the School of Arts and Sciences wrote the case study about Brandman. The competencies assessed are applied learning, integrated learning, civic engagement, global cultures, and innovation and creativity.

Other cases studies spotlighted as authentic examples of how assessment works included institutions such as the State University of New York (SUNY), Santa Clara University, the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, and St. Olaf College.
