University Place mayor uses leadership lessons to guide city during U.S. Open
Brandman graduate Denise McCluskey draws on the experience she gained as a M.S. human resources student every day in her role as mayor of University Place, Washington. Those lessons are particularly important now as her city hosts the U.S. Open golf tournament. With fans streaming in from around the world, the city of 30,000 is prepared for the crowds with leadership from McCluskey. Amidst the excitement from the tournament the city is also balancing the construction of a new town center. McCluskey cites the lessons she learned at Brandman as key to dealing with the many challenges the city faces as well as the daily challenges of her own family life.
