Habitat for Humanity forging relationship with Brandman
Chris Baiocchi, vice president of development for Habitat for Humanity of Orange County, urged Brandman employees to get involved with his organization during a short meeting Monday at the Irvine campus. Baiocchi is particularly interested in finding veterans who could use help from the organization’s Veteran Home Repair Project and urged people to refer students who might benefit from the program.
In addition to referring people, Brandman can get involved by volunteering and donating. Dr. Loren O’Connor, director of Brandman’s Office of Disability Services and Accessible Education, and Irvine campus director Jan Hartz organized the meeting to introduce people to the work being done in Orange County and are organizing a Brandman work day. In addition to building houses in La Habra, Santa Ana and Cypress and helping other homeowner – particulalry veterans – make repairs, Habitat for Humanity of Orange County runs two ReStores where the sale of new and gently used home items support the organization.
