Nick Lacy introduces Virginia Commonwealth University to CBE
Virginia Commonwealth University’s board of directors, the president of the university, business school dean and faculty members met with Nick Lacy last week to hear about Brandman University’s Competency Based Education (CBE) program.
Ed Grier, dean of VCU’s business school and a member of the Board of Regents for Brandman, wanted to show the VCU board innovations in education, said Lacy, who is the director of Competency Based Education and National Relations for Brandman.
As an institution, VCU is just getting into online education so CBE was a huge leap forward in terms of innovation, according to Lacy. VCU participants asked about the accountability structure, the technology and the response from the business community.
“This presentation continued to set Brandman apart as an innovator in the adult learning sector and enabled us to share our expertise and experience with other universities that are asking great questions about how to continue to innovate with education,” said Lacy.
