What’s on your desk? Lynn Larsen
Dr. Lynn Larsen, associate dean in the School of Education, mostly works from home. Her work desk reflects those things that are most important to her: her twins Hannah and Zachary (seniors in high school), Odyssey of the Mind (she is the state director) and stuffed animals.
Larsen always thought she would be “the most amazing kindergarten teacher” because of her affinity for stuffed animals, but it turned out she didn’t have the patience for working in early childhood. She turned her attention to middle and high school special education.
At Brandman, she oversees programs in special education, school psychology, the Master of Arts in education and California Teacher of English Learners (CTEL) credentialing. She also teaches two courses a year and works on admissions, adjunct approvals and student concerns.
Not on her desk but an important part of her office are her work buddies, the families dogs Kip and Emma, who sometimes provide sound effects when Larsen is dialed into a meeting and help her meet her Fitbit goals by “needing to go out/in/out/in/out/in.”
What’s on your desk? is a weekly feature of Brandman News Now. If you have a story about something you keep on your desk and want to be featured, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
