Maggie Suarez, who earned a master’s at Brandman University’s Santa Maria campus, is putting aside her work as a program director for the Community Action Commission this weekend and heading to Maryland. She’ll be competing for the Universal Boxing Federation (UBF) flyweight world title. She’ll face WIBA/UBF Bantamweight champion Tyrieshia “Lady Tyga” Douglas in one of the featured fights on Ladies Night, March 20.

Suarez was featured in a profile recently in the Santa Maria Sun: Meet Maggie Suarez: mom, full-time childcare worker, professional boxer.

A Santa Maria Times article earlier this year, Suarez gets busy, looked at her training program.
