What’s on your desk? Francisco Vazquez

Francisco Vazquez, One-Stop specialist
Two things close to his heart dominate Francisco Vazquez‘s desk area. The Riverside campus One-Stop advisor loves motorcycles and still rides one daily. An autographed picture of a friend who races lines one side of the area and the helmet he wore to ride work sits on a shelf above his head. Also on the shelf, a group photo of he the 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion (Third Trax) – his “brothers” from his years in the Marines.
Vazquez wrote his first motorcycle – a dirt bike – when he was 12 and graduated to true motorcycle by the time he was 14. He’s given up racing but maintains his love for both the sport and daily riding.
Vazquez, who has been at Brandman for about a year and is also going for his bachelor’s degree in social science, served multiple tours of duty with the Marines that took him to Iraq, Japan, Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and Kuwait.
Now he uses his military experience and his own experience as a student to help others navigate the college experience.
