What’s on your desk? Jennifer Cota-Robles
This is the first of installment of a new feature we’re calling “What’s on your desk?” We may not all have corner offices with beautiful views, but nearly everybody has a way of making their office space their own. This is how Brandman University staff and faculty make their spaces special.
Jennifer Cota-Robles, a One-Stop coordinator for Brandman University’s online campus, became a San Francisco 49er fan because her mother had a not-so-secret crush on Joe Montana and his blue eyes. In Cota-Robles’ family, it’s the women who are football fans.
“My Dad and brother weren’t that into it. Now they usually cheer for whoever is playing the 49ers,” said Cota-Robles.
Her parents live in Santa Clarita where she grew up and having 49er memorabilia helps her feel connected, particularly to her mom. “It’s a piece of my childhood, my family and my home, all in one,” she said.
A towel given out at the last game played in Candlestick Park was a gift from her cousin Aimee Horiuchi’s husband. (Aimee also works at Brandman). She has a picture of her dog in a 49er jersey, a calendar of the game schedule, an authentic fan sign and a 49er Snuggie, in case the temperature drops in her new second-floor cubicle in Irvine. All in all, it adds up to a space that any 49er fan would feel comfortable in, even if they have to wait until next season for another Niner victory.
