What's on your desk? Elizabeth Facanha
Elizabeth Facanha hangs her heart above her desk at Brandman University’s Modesto campus. Over her five years a Brandman, Facanha has created a collage of photos and cards on the bulletin board over her desk.
The Community and Corporate Relations manager says the special mementos posted on her office wall remind her why her job is so important and keep her connected to her coworkers and loved ones. That includes a loved one that is very close to Facanha’s heart, her daughter Isabella. Snapshots of Isabella are sprinkled throughout the mural. “I love looking at her picture when I can’t be with her. She inspires me and always makes me smile.”
She continues to use that inspiration each day in her office and in the field to “...engage and offer educational solutions for prospective students, businesses and community members.”
To connect with the community, Facanha doesn’t do all her work at her desk. She travels to events, meetings, presentations and trainings, weekly. “Some weeks I’m on the road every day. Other weeks, I may be out one or two days,” Facanha said.
Although the travel time can vary, Facanha enjoys the flexibility of her schedule. “I love the fact that family comes first at Brandman. Being a single mom, it feels good to know that if my daughter needs me, I can be available,” she said.
