Alumni offer advice at first Networking Roundtable
Brandman students and alumni shared their career questions and employment tips at the first Networking Roundtable sponsored by the Alumni Association and Career Services.
Alumni Association board member Tami Frankenfield, senior director of analytics and enterprise data for Mercury Insurance, kicked off the discussion as roundtable facilitator by talking about career changes she has made.
Katy Curameng, director of Career Planning and Development, said the event was designed for a mix of career changers, hiring managers and those looking to connect with other professionals.
Georgann Brannon, a human resources consultant who earned her M.S. in human resources from Brandman, talked about ways to navigate the HR process.
Colin, career coach for Career Services, offered to help both students and alumni with resume reviews and mock interview sessions.
The event connected students and alumni from a wide variety of professions and Brandman undergraduate and graduate programs, including computer information systems, sociology, psychology, criminal justice, social science and organizational leadership.
Shannon Feightner, manager of Alumni Relations, said a survey of participants showed they thought the event was worth repeating.
Career Services programs are open students, alumni and businesses.
