Bridging the generation gaps: Dr. Shelly Neal and Lindsay Racen share their expertise with emerging professionals
Brandman University’s Dr. Shelly Neal and Lindsay Racen led the discussion of navigating a multigenerational workplace at the Greater Irvine Chamber of Commerce Emerging Professionals event on May 24. Also joined by Hector Santa Cruz of Marriott Hotels and Matt Gilliland of Zillow Group, Dr. Neal highlighted the different values and attributes of each generation, from traditionalist to millennials, and outlined how these translate into the higher education space. Racen shared her perspectives from being a Brandman student, staff member and adjunct faculty member, taking an in-depth look at the differences and similarities between younger millennials born in the ’90s and older sub-section born in the ‘80s.
