Distinguished mentor learned to be a teacher at Brandman Santa Maria

Lompoc High School instructor Francisco Diaz Real is the Santa Barbara County Education Office’s recipient of the Distinguished Mentor Award. He was honored at the county’s Teacher of the Year ceremony Nov. 14. Diaz Real earned his teaching credential while a student at Brandman University’s Santa Maria campus where he also earned a bachelor’s in sociology.
