January 15, 2016 by Gustav Deutsch

We asked Brandman faculty members to share one piece of advice that they would give to Brandman students in the second of three videos from Brandman faculty members exploring questions about their education and challenges they face in the classroom. Featured in this video are Brandman faculty members from the School of Business and Professional Studies and the School of Arts and Sciences: David Gonzalez, Kathy Bates, Lata Murti, Melissa Meyer, Monica Shukla, Sharon Floyd, Sibyl Beaulieu, and Tim Perez.

What advice would you give to a fellow student? Let us know in the comments!

If you could give Brandman students one piece of advice what would it be?

David Gonzalez: Make it practical, on your drive home away from the classroom think about how you can apply just one thing learned during that time with your peers and your professor.

Kathy Bates: Have a passion for what you’re learning, make sure that you’re engaged with your program and your colleagues your classmates.

Lata Murti: Be open to change be open to questioning your beliefs and your assumptions.

Melissa Meyer: I think that you really should feel free to reach out to your instructors, they would love to hear from you.

Monica Shukla: Yeah, one piece of advice definitely utilize all the resources available to you.

Sharon Floyd: Take it seriously not everybody gets the opportunity to do this.

Sibyl Beaulieu: Well, off the top of my head, read your material it’s very important you can’t learn everything you need to learn in three hours once a week.

Tim Perez: Make sure you have your schedule your priorities that your friends your family know what days are class nights what day you do your homework and that really keeps everything focused.
