UPDATE: Read about the successful open house here.

Dr. Helen Eckmann talked about being a cancer survivor on Good Morning San Diego on  KUSI/TV this week. It’s part of her ongoing effort to promote the cancer research being done at Sanford Burnham Prebys Cancer Center in La Jolla, California.

Eckmann talked about the different ways people respond to a cancer diagnosis and said getting more involved in finding a cure is one of them. Eckmann and fellow Sanford Burnham Prebys board member Ruth Claire Black also discussed Cancer Survivors Week activities.

Eckmann said the Cancer Center’s open house on Thursday, June 9, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. introduces people to the research being conducted there.

Eckmann is an associate professor in the Brandman University School of Business and Professional Studies.
