Students, alumni ‘get comfortable with networking’

Participants at the Networking Roundtable included Kirstie Colin, career coach; Brian Sharkey, Class of 2006; Adrienne Yi, MHA Class of 2007; Gerardo Sierra, BBA student; Adam Coughran, 2010 alumnus and facilitator; Joy Bejarano, Class of 2013; Anil Kapoor, Class of 2013; Steve Devericks, MBA student; Lawrence Liem, MBA student; Nathaniel Owens, Class of 2015; Matthew Forrest, Class of 2015
Career Services and the Alumni Association teamed up to hold the second Networking Roundtable event of the year on Sept. 22.

Facilitator Adam Coughran listens to alumna Joy Bejarano, who graduated with a B.B.A. in 2013, and Anil Kapoor, a 2013 MBA graduate.
Adam Coughran, a 2010 graduate of Brandman’s M.A. in organizational leadership program, served as facilitator and host at the Center Club OC in Costa Mesa.
A mix of alumni and current students attended the event with 30 people reserving places at the networking table.
They came looking for business connections, information about making the transition from a military career and the opportunity to work on interview skills.

MBA student Steve Devericks from the Santa Maria campus shares a lighter networking moment with Director of Career Planning and Development Katy Curameng.
Participants came from as far as Santa Maria and Menifee in part to “put themselves out there and get comfortable with networking,” as one participant explained.
Career Services and the Alumni Association are already planning a similar event for early 2017.

Diamond Muganzo, Adrienne Yi and LaVeta Reed get to know each other at the Networking Roundtable.
