What is Brandman's accreditation?
Brandman is accredited by, and is a member of, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Its teacher training and credential programs are approved by the California State Department of Education.
What kind of credit does Brandman University Extended Education provide?
Upon successful completion, the participant will receive graduate-level professional development credit. It is the same as professional development credit. Each credit is a semester credit. These are professional development units that are typically not part of a degree program but instead are primarily used for professional advancement purposes such as salary increment steps and recertification. However, this credit may be applied toward a degree program at the discretion of the accepting institution.
How many hours does one credit represent?
Each credit represents 15 hours of work.
Will my district or state accept Brandman University Credit?
It is the responsibility of the individual participant to verify with his/her district or state prior to enrollment whether Brandman credit will be acceptable or not. State licensing departments vary regarding their criteria for credit acceptance, and some states may not accept credit from universities that are located outside the state.
Is a graduate-level professional development credit accepted in a Brandman University degree program and will it transfer to a degree program (Master's) at another university?
The professional development credits that we offer are not part of any degree program at Brandman University. However, decisions about transferring to another university are solely at the discretion of that university. Students are advised to seek approval of appropriate officials before enrolling in these courses, to satisfy any degree, state credential or local school district requirements.
What is the equivalent of one semester credit in quarter credits?
One semester credit equals 1.33 quarter credits.

How soon will I receive a grade?
The usual turnaround time is approximately 4 weeks after coursework is received (in the case of independent studies, learning circles and seminar practicums) or after an online course is completed.
When will I know that my grade is posted?
Students may check for grades, retrieve grade reports, and print unofficial transcripts through MyBrandman using your Brandman student username and password. Once your grade is visible in the online student services system and/or Brandman staff notify you it is posted, you can order transcripts.
How do I get a Brandman University username and password?
If you registered online with Brandman University, the system created and provided you with your username and password during the registration process. If you mailed or faxed in a registration form, you should have received an email from the Brandman IT department containing your username and activation directions, when the staff processed your registration. Please visit and click "Resend my Account Information Letter" if you never received your Brandman credentials. If you have continued difficulty activating or retrieving your username and password, please contact our office.
How do I order a transcript?
Visit the Transcripts page on our website for information about ordering official transcripts. You must wait until your grades have posted to order official transcripts. Unofficial transcripts can be printed through the MyBrandman student portal.
I am currently not in a classroom setting. Can I still do practicums and Independent Studies?
Yes. Will my financial aid apply for these courses?
Students are not eligible to receive financial aid for professional development courses. Admitted students seeking financial aid for academic classes should contact our office.

How long do I have to complete my follow-up practicum?
For most seminars, the final report is either due (postmarked) six months from the date of the seminar you attended, or from your date of registration. Please check your confirmation letter and/or registration information for your particular seminar's requirements. There are no time extensions granted on practicums.
How can I complete my assignment when my position as Librarian does not lend itself to developing and implementing activities?
