Bangor Campus to Celebrate Commencement May 1

Nearly 50 graduates to receive degrees at Naval Under the Sea Museum

SILVERDALE, Wash. (April 28, 2014) — Brandman University’s Bangor campus will hold commencement on Thursday, May 1 at 12pm at Naval Under the Sea Museum (1 Garnet Way, Keyport). Forty-seven graduates are expected to attend the ceremony which will take place inside the Jack Murdock Auditorium.

In a story of great perseverance, 56 year-old Floyd Robinson of Port Orchard will accept his bachelor’s in organizational leadership which he started to pursue back in 2003. “Don’t quit,” said Robinson. “You set a goal and it appears to be difficult, but don’t quit. You may have to take a break, but remember what the goal is and that is to complete the degree, don’t quit.”

Robinson juggled a fulltime job with the Department of Defense and a fulltime ministry position along with his education. On May 1, he will finish what he started 11 years ago. Four generations of family, some traveling from as far away as Virginia, will attend commencement.

Melissa Kittrell has been selected as the student commencement speaker. Also scheduled to speak is Dr. Glenn Worthington, dean of the School of Business and Professional Studies.

Over 300 guests are expected to attend the ceremony.
