FAIRFIELD, Calif. (January 14, 2014) —Linda Montenegro, campus director of Brandman University’s Fairfield and Travis Air Force base locations, has been selected as the Honorary Commander to Lt. Col. Will Clark, 571st Global Mobility Squadron Commander at Travis Air Force Base. Montenegro will be officially inducted at a special ceremony on Jan. 16 at the Delta Breeze Club located at Travis Air Force Base.
“This is a wonderful honor,” said Montenegro. “The fine service men and women of this area are vital to what we do as a university, and I am so proud to serve in this role.”
As Honorary Commander, Montenegro will have an opportunity to see Travis AFB from the “inside out” as she attends base wide events. She will also have access to commanders at the base and be able to exchange ideas to better strengthen Brandman University’s relationship with the Air Force and surrounding communities.
Lt. Col. Will Clark leads a contingency response squadron tasked with a 12-hour worldwide response as part of America’s 911 airbase opening force. He and his team provide combatant commanders with rapidly deployable, multi-skilled, expeditionary combat teams able to assess, open, initially operate and transition support follow-up forces for the 621 CRW.
