Brandman University Partners with HHS

Brandman expands education opportunities to over 65,000 additional employees

IRVINE, Calif. (March 06, 2013) - Brandman University has announced a new partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), which will provide educational development support and employee access to degree programs with special pricing.  HHS has more than 65,000 employees worldwide.

Brandman University Chancellor Gary Brahm says this new program follows the many other successful initiatives in the university’s Corporate Partners Education Program (CPEP).  “We have developed unique partnerships with corporations, organizations and various divisions of government with great success over the past few years, and I am thrilled to announce this new one with HHS,” he said.  Brandman has more than 80 partners in the program, including Kia, Oakley, Kawasaki, the American Cancer Society and City of Hope. Brandman partnered with the state of Washington last year, providing a similar program for all state employees. Over the past three years, some 400 Brandman students have participated in organization partnership programs, providing special pricing for employees at partner organizations.

The new partnership with Brandman will be included as part of HHS’ University Partnership Program that includes private and public universities committed to supporting HHS employees in their continuous professional and education development. HHS employees can choose from among the range of certification and degree programs offered by the partner university and receive applicable benefits, including tuition discounts.

"These academic partnerships are tremendous benefits for partner employees, helping them access the latest in their fields of interest, as well as the latest in education and training technology," said Dr. Shelly Neal, Associate Vice Chancellor of Brandman University. Neal works to build these partnerships and was instrumental with establishing the HHS program. "Secretary Sebelius wants all HHS employees to have access to the education they need to perform their jobs and advance their careers. With the amount of online learning opportunities available at Brandman, HHS staff all over the country will be able to take advantage of this initiative.”
